LP meter leaves
paper trail to savings
Kruger, one of Canada's leading newsprint manufacturers installed an LP07XT (3000 cfm) in their Trois-Rivieres facility. Immediate savings were discovered when using the LP meter for the first time. Personnel at the plant detected a Belliss and Morcom - 2 stage compressor that was designed to produce 700 cfm @ 100 psig, but was actually producing only 500 cfm @ 100 psig. If it were not for the LP meter, this problem would have continued without detection. With a failure to produce its full capacity, this forced the client to run an additional Atlas Copco screw compressor to make up for the lost production of air. This disclosure of wasted energy was costing this client an estimated $20,000.00 annually. Once the compressor was repaired the client shut down the Atlas Copco.
